Affiliate Marketing Birdies And Eagles By AnikS I was out on the links of my favorite clubs the other day with some good friends. It was a beautiful day for golf. The sun was shining, there was only a slight breeze and the temperature was perfect. The course was in great shape and I was enjoying the companionship of good friends. We were discussing the options of shooting under par for the par 4 14th hole.
‘Par’ for those of you who aren’t familiar with terms, is the number of strokes (times you hit the ball) from one hole to sink the ball in the cup of the next hole. Par is the average, so to speak. It is the number of strokes that it would take an average to good golfer to make the hole. When a golfer hit s the ball fewer times, he is under par. That is a good thing. It means that he beat the average. He accomplished the goal of sinking the ball with fewer strokes…less work. One stroke under par is called a ‘birdie’. Two stokes under par is called an ‘eagle’.
My mind is, of course, never very far from affiliate marketing so I got to thinking about ‘par’ affiliate advertising and how an affiliate marketer might accomplish getting under par; how he might score an affiliate marketing advertising

birdie or eagle.
In order to determine whether you are under par or over par, you first have to know what ‘par’ is. The best assessment that I saw of the average across-the-board CPA was $6.91. That is the par (or average) for acquiring a new customer overall on the affiliate marketing links.
The cost varies from niche to niche, no doubt. But you can establish your own ‘par’ and then try for birdies and eagles by employing all of the tactics that we teach at Affiliate Classroom.
If you can get your cost below your own average, you are shooting under par! You are getting birdies and eagles and that means that you are winning.
